Vanderbilt Medical Center Tours

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is among the nation's premier institutions of academic medicine. Vanderbilt has the only Level 1 Trauma Center in the area, as well as the only dedicated Burn Center. The adult emergency department sees more than 60,000 patients a year. Vanderbilt LifeFlight, the region's only academic medical center-based critical care transport service, transports more than 3,800 patients each year via air and ground covering more than 464,435 miles. Tour the adult emergency department, the emergency communications center for LifeFlight and a LifeFlight helicopter (weather and volume permitting).

The Vanderbilt Medical Center tours are free to EMS World Expo attendees. The Vanderbilt Shuttle will pick attendees up at the Music City Center.

Nashville Fire Department Ride-Along Program

Welcome to the 2014 Nashville Fire Department EMS World Expo Ride-Along Application.

Listed below are the requirements to schedule a 4-hour ambulance ride-along with the Nashville Fire Department's Paramedic EMS Bureau. Once you have all the information listed below, please forward it to the email listed at the bottom of the page. Once your packet has been reviewed and approved, you'll be contacted to schedule your ride-along. Slots for riders are on a first-come/first-serve basis.

Participants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Any qualified conference attendee may participate in the NFD's EMS Expo ride-along program. All requests must be submitted and completed no later than October 24, 2014. No exceptions allowed.
  2. To participate, all riders must meet the following criteria:
    a. Complete a ride-along application
    b. Must be 21 years of age or older
    c. Provide one of the following. Letter of good standing from
       -Current employer (EMS, Fire, Emergency Dept, Flight Service, etc.)
       -EMS Education Program
       -or background check
    d. Provide a current and valid form of federal/state issued identification.
    e. Possess and produce a current and valid license to practice in their respective state.
    f. The rider should be of good character, not likely to endanger the safety of the public, provider, or him/herself.
    g. Read, comprehend, and sign all applicable waivers prior to your ride- along.
    h. Applicants cannot have been convicted of a felony

TASA Night in Nashville

Join the Tennessee Ambulance Service Association (TASA) and Vanderbilt Lifeflight at the Tequila Cowboy, the largest Honky Tonk on the Broadway strip, as they host an evening of mechanical bull riding, patch swapping, karaoke, food and music by the up-and-coming band the Twang Bangers!

Attendees must purchase ticket for entry. Tickets are $10, and will be issued in the form of a challenge coin - yours to keep. Purchase your ticket at and pick up your tokens at the TASA Booth at EMS World Expo. Present your token at the door for entry.

Proceeds to benefit TASA capital projects.
